NEW YORK, NY (January 24, 2011) - Spirit Music is proud to announce we have extended our multi-year administration deal with Northvale/3 Seas Music and will now represent the catalogs for the world.
The deal, done with Laurie Records founders Bob Schwartz and Ernie Maresca, includes a treasure trove of hits released on the famed New York indie label in the early-to-mid '60s.
The catalogs feature the entire early output of Dion & The Belmonts, including top tracks "Lovers Who Wander," "Donna The Prima Donna," "A Lover's Prayer," and "Sandy." Also included are chart-toppers "Sweet Talkin' Guy" by The Chiffons, "Hey Jean, Hey Dean" by Dean & Jean, Bernadette Carroll's "Party Girl," and Maresca's international hits "Shout! Shout! (Knock Yourself Out)" and "The Good Life."
According to Spirit VP Creative Peter Shane, "Music supervisors for film and advertising have been increasingly looking for classic cuts from this era, and Laurie turned out some of the most enduring ones." He continued, "With our expanded sync staff in the U.K. and Europe, we expect to see as much success overseas as we've seen at home."
Spirit also represents the publishing catalogs of the famed Philadelphia-based Cameo/Parkway Records and the publishing and master libraries of New York rap label Enjoy Records and Minneapolis' K-Tel, as well as those of contemporary labels Fat Possum, Tompkins Square, and Dovecote.
