Delicious Vinyl

Pioneering West Coast label, founded by Mike Ross and Matt Dike in the late 1980's, signed and developed a string of cutting edge Rap, R&B, Hard Rock and Reggae acts who have enjoyed massive sales and chart successes. The label was responsible for some of rap’s first true crossover hits with the late 1980's release of Young M.C. (“Bust A Move,” “I Come Off,” “Pick Up The Pace” and “Principal’s Office”) and Tone Loc (“Wild Thing” and “Funky Cold Medina”). Delicious Vinyl was also first to introduce such cutting edge artists as the Brand New Heavies, Born Jamericans and Def Jef. Spirit has actively placed Delicious Vinyl songs into high profile film and television projects and advertising campaigns, including such recent uses as the main title in Sony’s Charlie’s Angels 2, as well as Sony’s Daddy Day Care, trailers for Fox’ Garfield and Taxi, last seasons final episode of E.R. and a national advertising campaign for DirecTV. Spirit represents all of Delicious Vinyl’s decade-plus output.
