D/R Period
With total album sales exceeding 15 million worldwide, the Brooklyn native has written and produced tracks for such high profile pop, hip-hop and rap artists as DMX, Onyx, Foxy Brown, Queen Latifah and MOP, including the latter groups anthem “Ante Up.” D/R also produced the Public Enemy soundtrack to Spike Lee’s He Got Game, and has had music in dozens of feature films including Empire, State Property and Bringing Down The House, for which he contributed the soundtrack single. In 2002, D/R stepped further into the limelight, writing the Cam’Ron single “Hey Ma,” which was a Top 5 Pop smash. He broke internationally in recent years thanks to Spirit’s introduction to a list of high profile global artists including the UK’s Estelle (V2) and Javine (Virgin), Germany’s Afrob & Sammy Deluxe (EMI) and Japan’s AI (Universal), all of whom have released singles written and produced by D/R. Most recently, Spirit placed D/R’s “Wat’s Ya Problem” in the DeNiro/Pacino feature Righteous Kill, and then landed the artist/producer an acting role as well.
