One of the top southern rock bands of all time, the Marshall Tucker Band sold more than 30 million records, became a premier concert attraction and dominated rock radio in the 1970's. The bands prolific catalog, a collection of nearly 200 songs, includes the hits “Heard It In A Love Song,” “Fire On The Mountain,” “Can’t You See,” “Searchin’ For A Rainbow” and “This ‘Ol Cowboy.” Several years ago, Spirit landed a cover of the band’s “Bob Away My Blues” on country star Clint Black’s platinum CD “D’Lectrified.” Spirit also placed “Can’t You See” in such recent feature films as Paramount’s Stop-Loss, Sony’s You Don’t Mess With The Zohan and most recently as the main and end titles in Disney’s election dramedy Swing Vote. Tucker songs have also been placed in ad campaigns for GMAC cars and trucks and Busch Beer. The group, who own their own masters, recently concluded a deal with Shout Factory/Sony which is resulting in the well-promoted reissue of all of their original albums, a CD of classic live performances and a boxed set.
