WHAT MATTERS MOST TO BARBRA STREISAND

Having recorded more than 50 of their songs throughout her illustrious career, Barbra Streisand chose to honor Alan and Marilyn Bergman with a new double-album comprised entirely of their works.

"What Matters Most - Barbra Streisand Sings The Lyrics Of Alan And Marilyn Bergman" - out August 23 - features 10 of the duo's songs which she'd never previously recorded including the standards 'Nice N Easy", "That Face" and "So Many Stars".

The set also features Bergman's songs she made famous including "You Don't Bring Me Flowers", "What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life?" and "Papa Can You Hear Me" from 'Yentl'.

Streisand has long counted Alan and Marilyn among her closest friends and creative collaborators, saying recently that they "have a remarkable gift for expressing affairs of the heart.".

The Bergman's have said "To hear Barbra Streisand sing a song we've written is to know why we chose to become writers. She always gets exactly what we mean in a lyric. And more. Shadings, feelings, nuances emerge that never fail to surprise and thrill us."
