Famed East Coast writer/producer, Ritchie Cordell, helped defined the sound of pop/rock in the mid-1960s, writing and producing such hits as Tommy James’s “Mony Mony” and “I Think We’re Alone Now.” Though many of his earliest copyrights were assigned to other publishers at the time, Spirit administers his retained catalog that includes such Top 20 charters as Crazy Elephant’s late 1960s rocker, “Gimme Gimme Good Lovin’,” licensed actively for network television and commercial advertising, and a list of bubblegum hits from the era, including The 1910 Fruitgum Company’s “1, 2, 3, Red Light.”
