Tanzanian-born, London-bred Tiggs Da Author, real name Adam Muhabwa, blends old school jazz and soul sounds with modern production and beats. Honing his skills as a musician as the leader of a nine-piece jazz band, naturally led to a love for performing live and influenced his musical style. Having been compared to the likes of Ray Charles, Finley Quaye and Outkast, there is no British artist like him. With rich warm tones and crisp, clear flow that sits somewhere between Ghostpoet and Wretch 32, his range is too bold to be anchored to one genre. From sweet soft skanks to yearning lullabies via direct rapid narratives, his unconventional eclectic soul is a refreshing, unique addition to the ever-growing wealth of young British talent. Tiggs da Author taught himself the disciplines of production, songwriting and composition. He scribed rhymes and lyrics and practiced his vocal range, all to his own beats. Too many stories to tell to just produce, too emotional to just rap, too animated and activated to just sing. His style developed and pretty soon he had hooked up with Sway’s Dcypha, releasing his first EP “Evilution.” Pretty soon he was getting attention from the majors and has recently signed a deal with RCA Records. Now working on new material due for release in 2015, Tiggs da Author’s showing distinct potential for a long and illustrious career as an artist.
