Trailers for Warner Bros. comedy, WE’RE THE MILLERS, feature rap tracks that include not one but two samples of Billy Squier’s “The Stroke.”
The film’s first promo trailer, released in June, featured Los Angeles-rapper Mickey Avalon’s 2006 single “Stroke Me,” which borrows beats and riffs from the classic early-’80s rock anthem.
The second trailer, which hit TV screens in July, features “Oh!”, a 2002 single released by Queens rap-rockers, Union Turnpike, which also pulls its frantic energy from “The Stroke.”
The film, opening wide on August 7, stars Jason Sudekis as a veteran pot dealer who creates a fake family (including wife Jennifer Aniston) as part of a plot to move a huge shipment of weed into the U.S. from Mexico.
