Tim Montana was raised in the great state of Montana, where he lived with his family ‘off the grid’ in a cabin with no electricity. Given his first guitar at six, he had to teach himself how to play by candlelight. In Tim’s teen years, his stepfather would often take Tim’s guitar away as a form of manipulation and punishment, so Tim would sneak his guitar out the window and head to town, playing wherever he could find an audience.
Tim’s unique sound found a following. At one of his shows in a club in the mountains of Montana, Tim got a break: David Letterman, who was in the audience, had his talent booker invite Tim to appear on the Late Show.
Tim Montana and The Shrednecks are now based in Nashville, where he co-wrote “This Beard Came Here To Party” with ZZ Top's Billy F Gibbons. The song became an anthem for the Boston Red Sox during the 2013 World Series and the video was the most viewed on the MLB websites.
The past few years, the band has shared the stage with Brantley Gilbert, Montgomery Gentry, Lee Brice, and toured with ZZ Top and Kid Rock. FOX news licensed Tim’s song “Rust and Red” to play during interviews with Rob O’Neill, the Navy Seal who shot and killed Osama Bin Laden. O’Neill is a close friend and a fellow Butte Montana native.
Tim is a proud husband and father of two beautiful children and another on the way. Tim Montana and The Shrednecks will be touring with Kid Rock and sharing the stage with some of Country’s super stars in 2016. His fun, high energy music is sure to rock your socks off!
Tim Montana and The Shrednecks are booked by CAA’s president Rod Essig, who said: “Tim Montana and The Shednecks are what country music audiences are thirsting for.”
