Originally from Chico, California, Justin Richards made the move to Nashville in 2011 to follow his passion for country music. Having spent his early years writing and performing in rock bands like *Brighten* and *A Rocket To The Moon* (signed to Fueled By Ramen), Justin was well-versed in the power of strong melodies and emotive lyrics. However, his heart was set on transitioning into the country music scene, a genre that would allow him to blend his rock roots with his newfound love for storytelling and Southern influences.

In 2012, Justin’s career took a significant turn when he joined the country duo Dan + Shay as their lead guitarist. Since then, he has been an integral part of their sound, contributing to the success and growth of the duo. With their harmony-driven, radio-friendly blend of pop-country, Dan + Shay became one of the most successful acts in contemporary country music, garnering several chart-topping hits, awards, and accolades along the way. Justin’s guitar playing has been a key element in helping shape their distinctive sound, blending elements of traditional country with modern pop influences.
