Michi

Meet Michi, the solo project of Michelle Guerrero. Strongly influenced by the rhythmic grooves of Motown and Soul, music found her at a young age, sparking an early passion for singing, songwriting, and creating.

Growing up Latina in a home filled with diverse musical influences, Michi developed a unique approach to songwriting, drawing inspiration from legends like Erykah Badu and the Isley Brothers. Her music blends soulful melodies, alternative R&B, and smooth mid-tempo rhythms, reflecting both her heritage and the cultural richness of her surroundings.

From her Highland Park, Los Angeles home, Michi began crafting a sound that would soon catch the industry’s attention. In the summer of 2019, she introduced herself to the world with the release of “Catch a Feeling” and “Still Feel U”—two tracks that set the stage for her signature style. By early 2020, she dropped “Night Moves”, a sensual, atmospheric track that would later become the lead single for her debut EP.

Her distinctive vocals and genre-blurring sound quickly gained traction. Spotify heavily playlisted her releases, and her music earned features in The FADER, Complex, and Rolling Stone MX, among others. Riding this momentum, Michi released her debut EP, Sugarbaby, in October 2020, solidifying her place as a rising force in the alt-R&B and indie soul scenes.

With her signature sultry sound and smooth, hypnotic beats, Michi continues to evolve, pushing boundaries with each release. She is currently in the studio, working on her next project—promising even more of the lush, emotional storytelling that has made her music so compelling.
