Inside Nashville Sync Camp: This month, Spirit Music Group joined forces with creative collective Champagne Breakfast to host an unforgettable three-day Sync Camp at Spirit’s Nashville headquarters. Nestled in the heart of Music City, the event transformed Spirit’s offices and recording studios into a hub of innovation, where top-tier talent from across the industry came together to write, collaborate, and create music tailored for film, TV, trailers, and advertising.
The Sync Camp was designed to fuel collaboration and offer creatives the chance to respond directly to music briefs curated by some of the most influential music supervisors working in media today. The goal? To spark fresh inspiration while offering real opportunities for music placements across a variety of visual platforms.
Each day, artists, songwriters, and producers teamed up in writing rooms for focused sessions inspired by supervisor-led briefs. These sessions didn’t just push creative boundaries — they also fostered invaluable connections across genres, backgrounds, and disciplines. With supervisors actively engaging throughout the process, the feedback loop between creator and client was tighter than ever, resulting in music that was not only inspired but industry-ready.
This year’s lineup of talent was nothing short of impressive. Representing Spirit Music Nashville were Bobby Hamrick, Brock Westover, Cale Dodds, Jessica Cayne, Joy Williams, Justin Halpin, and Mike Fiorentino — all respected names in country, pop, and Americana songwriting circles. Champagne Breakfast brought a dynamic roster of creatives to the table as well, including Anna Graceman, Beacon Light, Bryan Dawley, Christian Harger, Geoff Duncan, Levi Bennington, Que Parks, Teddy Boldt, and Tyler Ewing. The diversity of musical voices made for a vibrant and genre-spanning soundscape throughout the camp.
On the supervision and production side, attendees included Shelby Britten (Trailer Music Supervisor, Seismic Productions), Jon Moshier (Executive Music Producer, Doner Advertising), Aaron Mercer (Co-President, Premier Music Group), Ashley Young (Associate Music Supervisor, GrandSon Creative), and Anna Romanoff (Music Supervisor, Yay Team Inc.). Their presence provided direct insight into what today’s visual media needs and gave creatives an invaluable peek behind the curtain of the sync world.
In an industry where connection and context are everything, the Spirit x Champagne Breakfast Sync Camp was a powerful reminder of what happens when you bring together the right people, the right briefs, and a space that inspires. This wasn’t just a writing camp — it was a catalyst for future placements, partnerships, and creative breakthroughs.
Ryan Johnson, Senior Director, Creative Synch Licensing, Spirit Music Group, commented: “We were able to bring together both top and rising talent for this unique opportunity to write to specific briefs from music supervisors across genres and media. In teaming up with Champagne Breakfast, we set up collaborations amongst a talented and diverse mix of writers who each brought something different to the table.”
Emma Smith, Vice President of Creative Sync and Licensing, Champagne Breakfast, commented: “We’re so grateful to be partnering with Spirit Music on our first-ever collaborative camp. A writing camp is unlike anything else. It’s a space where relationships are built in truly meaningful ways. We love challenging our writers to step into new rooms, exploring different themes and genres, and watch the magic unfold. While incredible songs always come out of these camps, it’s the lasting relationships and unforgettable memories that mean the most to me.”
