Spirit Music Group and Kobalt today announced that they have formed a creative joint venture to sign a worldwide songwriter agreement with English songwriter and record producer, Nick Gale, professionally known as Digital Farm Animals. The deal encompasses global synch and creative services for future songs. Nick Gale initially signed to Spirit Music Group in 2020 and Spirit will continue to publish Digital Farm Animals’ prior song catalog.
Nick Gale is a multi-platinum selling songwriter/producer with a catalogue which spans over 4.5 billion streams. He has enjoyed chart topping success with artists including Dua Lipa, Bebe Rexha, David Guetta, Charli XCX, Jason Derulo, Ellie Goulding, Yung Blud and Galantis. He has recently come off the back of 2x U.S. mainstream radio singles with Marshmello x Jonas Brothers “Leave Before You Love Me” and Marshmello x Khalid’s “Numb,” which hit in the Top 10 on Billboard AC, Top 40 and Mainstream Top 40 charts.
Gale played an integral role in writing and producing KSI’s #1 album “All Over The Place,” which includes 5 of his top 5 UK singles. Among these are the platinum selling hit single “Don’t Play” featuring Anne-Marie and Digital Farm Animals and the #2 UK single “Holiday,” both of which were nominated in the prestigious Song of the Year Category at The BRIT Awards in 2022.
This year Nick contributed to Tom Grennan’s #1 album “What Ifs & Maybe” (Gale co-wrote “Not Over Yet”, which peaked at #4 on the UK singles chart and the top 20 single “Lionheart”). Nick also co-wrote the BPI certified Platinum track “Crazy What Love Can Do” by David Guetta with Becky Hill and Ella Henderson which hit #5 on UK Singles Chart, giving Guetta his 27th Top 10 hit. The song also hit top 10 on six different singles charts.
Nick has also been behind hit records inc. Dua Lipa’s breakthrough single “Be The One”, which garnered international chart success and landed Dua Lipa her first Top 10 in the UK. Nick also penned Galantis’ Top 5 single “No Money”, which accumulated over half a billion Spotify streams and became their first single to chart on the Hot 100 in the U.S. Other successes include UK rapper Aitch’s Top 10 single “Buss Down” featuring ZieZie; Rita Ora’s “Anywhere” which charted Top 10 in 15 countries, peaking at #2 in the UK; and Louis Tomlinson’s multi-platinum selling hit single to “Back To You” featuring Bebe Rexha and Digital Farm Animals.
