Spirit Music Group Elevates Tamar Wax to VP, Film and TV Music, Creative

February 14, 2024

Spirit Music Group, one of the world’s leading global independent music publishing companies, today announced the promotion of Tamar Wax to Vice President, Film & TV Music, Creative. Tamar was previously Senior Director, Film & TV Music for Spirit. Tamar is based in the company’s Los Angeles office and reports directly to Amy Hartman, Senior Vice President, Creative Services.

Amy Hartman commented: “Tamar has proven herself to be an exceptional creative sync licensing executive, having landed multiple high-profile sync licenses for our Spirit Music Group roster across trailers, promo campaigns, TV shows and films. We couldn’t be happier to acknowledge her dedication to our songwriters and our music supervisor community with this well-deserved promotion.”

Tamar Wax commented: “Working with the Spirit song catalog is an absolute privilege. I have always been passionate about music and the power it has to elevate pictures, stories, and marketing campaigns.  Spirit Music is home to some of the best songwriters in the industry, and I’m thankful to Amy and the team at Spirit Music Group for giving me this opportunity.”

Tamar Wax is an experienced music executive with over twenty years of experience procuring sync placements and working closely with music supervisors across multiple platforms. Tamar also has film and television studio experience on the music supervision side, overseeing the music used in visual media and serving the vision of producers and directors. This combination of experience gives Tamar a unique understanding of the needs of her Film & TV clients.

At Spirit Music Group, Tamar was instrumental in placing a trailerized remix of Daddy Yankee’s hit “Gasolina” in the Fast X film, trailer and TV spots.  She also landed a remix of Billy Squier’s “The Stroke” in the trailer for Amazon’s AIR, a HBO Max brand image campaign, and PGA promo.   Other highlights include placing T.Rex’s “20th Century Boy” and “Children of the Revolution” in trailers for Minx season two and the Netflix Rebel Moon trailer, M.O.P.’s “Ante Up (Robbin Hoodz Theory)” in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem trailer, as well as placements in television shows and promos for NBC, ABC, Apple TV, Netflix, Disney+, Starz, and more.

Prior to joining Spirit Music Group in 2019, Tamar served as Vice President, Creative at Vibrant Ground Music, where some of her key projects included trailers for “Star Trek Discovery”,  “Animal Kingdom”, Skyscraper (Universal Pictures), Speed Kills (Saban Films), and NBC’s Thursday night primetime programming campaign.

As a consultant for Impact Music, Tamar’s key placements included trailers for Maleficent, John Wick, Walking With Dinosaurs, Percy Jackson Sea of Monsters, Edge of Tomorrow, and Quantum Break.
